Upon arrival in Puerto Montt, the lakeside gateway to Chilean Patagonia, you’ll travel by land to Puerto Varas, which is just 30 minutes away. This beautiful town, better known as the “City of Roses”, is the gateway city to the Chilean Lake District, and faces the great Osorno Volcano.
Leaving early in the morning from Petrohué, you will head towards the skirts of the volcano Osorno. On our way up, trekking partly through a canyon, we will experience the amazing rock formations formed by water and melting snow of Osorno, as well as lava while reaching our goal which is the pass between Osorno and Cerro La Picada.
Enjoy a well-deserved picnic to regain strength at the edge of a beautiful waterfall, before descending towards Playa Larga where we can take a refreshing dip in the lake before heading back towards Petrohué.
Meet your private guide and head to the Alerce Andino National Park. Hike the 4 kilometers Chaica River Falls trail, an even path for the most part, the crystal water and the song of its torrent, accompanying.
Arrive to the Chaica River Falls for a bit of rest while admiring nature’s spectacle. Only about 100 meters ahead is the last part of the trail to arrive at the Millenial Alerce Tree. We will stay here for a while to contemplate our surroundings and to feel the inner peace fill our souls before we return by the same path.

Time to say goodbye to Torres del Paine! Depending on your departure time, you may be able to do a final half day excursion, such as Aonikenk or Chorrillo Pingo trekking.
At the appropriate time board the Explora shuttle to the Punta Arenas airport to check in to your domestic flight to Chile’s capital once more. Welcome to Santiago! Upon arrival, we will meet you and take you to your hotel in the heart of the city to rest and take stock of your adventure in Patagonia!
Today take your flight to Calama, where you will take the shuttle to the Explora Atacama Lodge located in Ayllu de Larache, near the village of San Pedro de Atacama.
When you arrive at the lodge your host will explain the available activities for the next couple of days. All activities of the menu and meals will be included during your stay! (If there is a particular activity you would definitely like to partake in, please let us know about a month before your trip to reserve it with Explora just in case).

The explorations we recommend considering are as follows: A visit to The Puritama hot springs, Stargazing at the Explora Observatory, Full Day Excursion to the Altiplanic Lagoons, The Wanaku Hike (for something quite active), Tatio Geyser Half Day, and/or Half Day Hike Moon Valley – Kamur.
At the appropriate time, you will take the Explora shuttle to the Calama airport for your flight back to Santiago.
If your flight is late in the afternoon you will have free time to explore any of the self-guided trails, or just to relax at any of the areas of the lodge.
With your private guide we will head to Lo Valdes, a small village located 93km away from Santiago in the mountain area called “Cajón del Maipo.” Take a beautiful light hike to a hanging glacier inside the “El Morado” Natural Monument (approximately 5-6 hours hiking round trip).
Return using the same path and we will take you back to your hotel for an evening at your leisure.
Today take a trip to Valparaíso, one of the most important ports in the country. This picturesque city, hangs on the hills and its historic center was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
We will start our tour visiting the Prat pier and area of “Puerto” neighborhood that still maintains its heldfast traditions. Afterwards walk in the Alegre and Concepción hills and learn about the architectural and cultural legacy left by the European immigration. Observe numerous expressions of street art, as well try out one of the mythical elevators.
Later head to the Matetic winery and vineyard located in Rosario valley. The conditions and characteristics of the soil here make it similar to Napa Valley, California. Visit the vineyards and the warehouse, ending the private tour with a wine tasting of 4 wines of the line EQ (Premium).
Enjoy your final leisurely morning in seaside Valparaíso! Later this morning you will meet your private guide and driver, who will take you back to Santiago de Chile.
Along the way you will be able to stop in Viña del Mar to take some pictures, and enjoy the unforgettable scenery! You will have the remainder of the afternoon and evening to spend in Santiago as you see fit!
After lunch begin your tour of the city of Santiago. Chile’s capital city is a sophisticated, sprawling metropolis wedged between the Andes and mountainous coastal range, which 6 million people call home – this is roughly one-third of Chile’s population.
We will visit Constitution Square and the palace “La Moneda”, the government’s current seat. We will walk to “Plaza de Armas” (the main square), surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Royal High Court’s palace, the Main Post Office, and other buildings of historical interest such as the Central Market. Finally, we will head to the San Cristobal hill from where we can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the city and the Andes.
After a final meal, we will bring you to the airport for your journey home. We will help you check in for your international flight and wish you buen viaje!
