Here is why I strongly recommend Kuoda Travel

I have travelled a good deal to many different destinations, I always arranged everything myself but I decided to use a. travel agency for trip to Machu Pichu. I just used the internet to look up a number of agencies, mainly well known American agencies. but checked out Kouda Travel. After speaking with Isabel, the helpful contact person I decided that a company in Cusco would likely have good contacts and superior knowledge. Fortunately, I was more than right. Our trip exceeded our expectations due to the professional, yet friendly down to earth guides. From the moment we were met at Lima airport for the next 9 days, it was all stress free, educational and very comfortable.
I noticed in the hotels we were getting best rooms, and staff at each seemed to know who we were. The owner, Mary, undoubtedly after 20 years of running a company in her hometown was well respected by those running the hotels and restaurants, all to our advantage.
Each day had great tours and food. All the various entrance tickets, boarding passes for flights etc were taken care of by Kouda. Basically, we woke up, met helpful guides, such as Lilian, special thanks to Bartolome who knew so much abut Caral, and gave us great insights on the long drive there and back.
Rosabeth was outstanding guide as well, she knows the Sacred Valley and Machu Pichu very well. It’s a beautiful area but having Rosa as our guild enhanced it. (Getting what had to be the best room at Sanctuary Lodge was a great as well) Kenedy was a calming influence who made certain we were on time and comfortable, and, like all the guides had excellent insights. I cannot recall the drivers names but they definitely were good as roads narrow an din cities traffic terrible.
I had no concept of what would be a reasonable price for this tour for 2. I just said OK, let’s trust them. But we ran into a 20 person tour with a nationally recognized company at tSanctuary Lodge and compared notes. Turned out Kuoda was about a $1000 dollars less per person and we rode the private train to Macho Pichu unlike that tour (If. you go-the train is a must-, great scenery, food, beverages, music and fun.
Bottom line- I strongly recommend Kudoa Travel.. Go local, its the best way.
