When your flight arrives in Bogotá, a Kuoda host will welcome you personally and escort you to the hotel. Instead of navigating a new city after a long flight, let us take care of the transportation logistics. We will drop you off at your hotel so you can refresh and enjoy a peaceful evening before your romantic honeymoon experience begins. Relax with a good night’s rest before exploring Bogotá in the morning.
During your private tour of Colombia’s capital city, you will start at the Paloquemao market, abundant with fresh food and flowers. This market also offers great insight into the life and customs of local Bogotans. Next, head to La Candelaria which is Bogota’s heart and soul. This is the oldest neighborhood in the city, and the Plaza Bolivar is a must-see while traveling here.
Next, your guide will escort you to the Gold Museum, home to one of the finest collections of Pre-Hispanic gold artifacts in the world. With more than 35,000 pieces of pre-Colombian gold works in the collection, this museum offers a fascinating look into the history of the region. Be sure to view the golden raft, which is one of the most important pieces on display, and was the driving force in the Spaniard’s quest to find El Dorado.
In the morning, we will escort you to the airport for your flight to Armenia where you will get to explore Colombia’s famous coffee region.
For many people, this is the cultural epicenter of Colombia. With every turn, a spectacular panorama view unfolds before your eyes, from the rolling hillsides of fertile coffee plantations to plunging valleys and bold elevations. Staying in one of the many fincas or haciendas provides an opportunity to get a feel for the ambiance and harmony of the land while enjoying some well-deserved rest.
Today’s tour takes you on a culturally rich journey through the coffee region and soaking up the natural beauty of the Cocora Valley. Over the course of two days, you will explore all that Quindío has to offer. Sip some of the finest coffee in the world while enjoying a tour of one of the local plantations.
Then, it’s onto Valle Cocora where the magnificent Wax Palm grows. This majestic landscape offers views you can only imagine, like something out of a movie. Part of the wider Parque Nacional Los Nevados, the valley is located on the eastern limits of Quindío along the central Andean range. While hiking through the lush, rolling terrain, couples will feel nothing but gratitude that they got to share this experience together.
This morning you will make the journey from Armenia to Santa Marta before embarking on the road trip to Tayrona National Park. The park sits at the edge of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range, the highest coastal mountain range in the world. Tayrona is truly a paradise on Earth. Palm-fringed beaches and golden sand stretch out in front of you, with a lush green rainforest lining the coast. It will be the perfect place to spend a few days enjoying one another’s company.
In the morning, your guide will escort you through the main park entrance hike through the park towards those dreamy beaches. As you trek along the coastal paths, look around at the unique combination of surf, sand, and jungle foliage for a spectacular view. For those who prefer a more slow pace, horses can be arranged to carry you or your bags through the park.
There is no better place to relax and listen to the calming rhythms of the waves than Tayrona. As you sit on the white sands of Cañaveral, you can hear the lively jungle world behind you. The tropical forests that line the coast host a population of nearly 26,500 indigenous people from the Koji, Arhuaco, and Wiwa tribes. It’s also home to the world’s highest coastal mountain range, making it an excellent hiking destination for travelers who want to wander the jungle trails. Or, you can relax with the Caribbean ocean stretching out in front of you. Time can be spent relaxing on the beach or in a hammock in the picturesque beach paradise.
In the morning, your guide will meet you as you set off to explore the vast history and beauty of the city of Cartagena. The expedition begins at the Castillo San Felipe, the largest Spanish fortification in the Americas, which dominates Old Town. Underneath this amazing structure, you will find a labyrinth of tunnels. The sun-soaked fortification is full of ancient stories to learn about during your tour. Some of the tunnels are lit and accessible to visitors, so if you’re curious, step into this living, breathing history book.
There are few things more romantic than an early evening traditional horse and cart ride along the cobbled streets of Cartagena’s old town. Couples will finish their first night in Cartagena, winding along the lanes decorated with colonial buildings, balconies of flowers, and a cool Caribbean breeze.
You will have plenty to keep you occupied with a free day in Cartagena. The city is an attraction in itself, but there are also plenty of local shops to explore and fine dining to enjoy. If you fancy a good walk, a trip down to the beaches of Boca Grande will let you soak up some sun and see how the locals enjoy their city coastline.
Providencia, also known as Old Providencia or Providence, is the smaller of the two principal islands that form the archipelago. Old Providencia is a more peaceful mountainous landscape than its bigger neighbor, San Andres, thanks to its status as a national park.
Declared a national park in order to protect its obvious natural beauty, the lush island is inhabited by fewer than 6000 people. The island has a wealth of riches such as its pristine beaches and diving opportunities. Far more laid back than San Andres, one does not visit here looking for thumping nightlife or bars. A few days of relaxing here will be the perfect finale for your luxurious honeymoon adventure.
Spend these days relaxing one on one and exploring the magical island paradise of Providencia. Soak up the sun at one of the great palm-fringed beaches, take a buggy ride around the island, hike to the highest point of the island, dive or snorkel in crystal blue waters, or simply lay back and relish one of the Caribbean’s most peaceful islands.
Going home is the worst part of any private Colombia vacation, but at Kuoda, we’ll do our best to make it as smooth and hassle-free as possible. We’ll bring you to the airport for your return flight for the journey home. Buen Viaje!
