I just wanted to express my thanks for planning such an excellent adventure for us.  We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.  You were superb to work with especially with such short notice of our trip.  Everyone we met who worked for Kuoda were wonderful.

Our driver, Jose, navigated the narrow road and steep ones very well.  I never was afraid.  His personality was super and he was prepared for our needs, whether it was with an ice cooler with water in it or toilet paper when a bathroom didn’t have any.  He was very kind and it was great to get to know him and his love for Peru.  We enjoyed our time with him.  Jose willingly tried a new American candy “War Heads” and was kind enough not to spit it out even though it was very sou!

I think Ofelia was the absolute best personal guide you have employed.  She was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited.  Her positive nature was wonderful to be around every day.  She understood how important it was for us to not only see the tourist sites but to also be amongst the Peruvians and come to a greater understanding of the wonderful Peruvian people.  Ofelia understood what was of the most importance to us, so if needs be, our schedules were adjusted in order to accommodate our desires.  She was our photographer too which was a big undertaking with three cameras and a cellphone to be taking pictures with.

Ofelia and Jose contributed to making our trip a once in a lifetime experience!  When we said goodbye on our last night to Ofelia, I have to tell you I cried as I felt that I was leaving not saying goodbye to a tour guide, rather I was saying farewell to a good friend.  We shared many wonderful experiences together.

There were so many wonderful moments that we had while there.  It would be difficult to say what was my most favorite part of the trip as there were many.  I’ve enclosed some of my favorite memories for you to take a peek at.

Being able to spend some time with the wonderful women who taught us how to weave was another highlight as was going to the after school program both of which are sponsored by Kuoda was a great experience.  If was obvious that the tutors have a love for the children and a commitment to them too.

We were surround by the handiwork of the Inca’s and their predecessors.  I enjoyed being able to ask all of my questions and receive answers without feeling like I was distracting a tour guide.  Rather, it was like being shown around by our friends, Jose and Ofelia.

Then there was Machu Picchu.  A place that took my breathe away!

Bread making classes, to music lessons, to eating guinea pig and everything in between was wonderful.

Everything exceeded our expectations.  We highly recommend Kuoda to others planning to visit the Sacred Valley.  In fact, I’ve already referred you to a few people I’ve met who are planning to visit Machu Picchu next year.  We hope one day to further explore the Amazon, Nazca and Galapagos and we will definitely be contacting Kuoda when we do.

Thank you once again for sharing your beautiful culture, passions, family and lives with us
