Itinerary

Welcome to Bolivia

Welcome to Bolivia!

When your flight arrives in La Paz, a Kuoda host will welcome you personally and escort you to the hotel. Instead of navigating a new city after a long flight, let us take care of the transportation logistics. We will drop you off at your hotel so you can refresh and enjoy a peaceful evening before the real excursion starts. Relax with a good night’s rest before your adventure truly begins.

Tour of La Paz

Tour of La Paz

This morning, an expert guide will lead you through the streets of La Paz for an exclusive cultural tour. Learn about noteworthy historical landmarks like those in the central Plaza Murillo, shop in colorful and mystical markets like the famous Witches’ Market, and explore some of the city’s captivating museums.

In the afternoon, leave the urban environs behind for a trip out to the Valley of the Moon – with ragged peaks and lunar landforms caused by centuries of erosion.

La Paz to Uyuni

La Paz to Uyuni

After a short morning flight to Uyuni, you’ll find yourself at one of the most remarkable places on the planet: the perfectly level, dazzlingly white salt plains of Uyuni. Learn how salt is extracted here before visiting Incahuasi Island, an isolated cluster of coral and cacti perched in the middle of this sea of white.

Marvel at the distant views of the Tunupa Volcano and enter ancient caves that house the pre-Inca Mummies of Coquesa, whose naturally preserved bodies were discovered here. That night, you’ll sleep in a dazzling hotel constructed almost entirely from salt.

Discover the wonders of Uyuni

Discover the wonders of Uyuni

Begin today with a drive through the mountain deserts to Laguna Colorada, a vast high-altitude lake whose waters have a striking red hue due to the abundance of algae and microorganisms. Be sure to grab a few photos of this bizarre lagoon as you watch for flamingos at the water’s edge.

Your guided tour continues with stops at the bubbling Sol de Mañana geysers and the Chalviri salt pan before ending up at another unusually colored lake: Laguna Verde. The Licancahur Volcano can usually be seen reflecting off the brilliantly bright aqua waters here.

After a day of adventure, you’ll be dropped off at your luxury hotel high in the mountain plateau, where you can spend a restful evening.

Glimpse flamingos and explore the Dali Desert

Glimpse flamingos and explore the Dali Desert

On day five of your luxury trip to Bolivia, you’ll travel into the ultra-arid Siloli Desert, whose sculptural rock formations are almost unbelievably beautiful. Among the unusual formations is the famous stone tree, which inspired Dali’s surrealist landscapes.

Next, your private tour around Bolivia’s southwest will take you back toward Uyuni, with stops at a few more lagoons: some colorful like the Honda and Charkota, some favored by flamingos like Kañapa, and one whose name translates to “stinking lake”, known as Hedionda. This sulfuric lagoon is an unusual but natural spectacle despite its strong scent.

For your final night in the Uyuni Salt Flats, you’ll return to the salt hotel for another relaxing evening.

Return to La Paz and Tiahuanaco

Return to La Paz and Tiahuanaco

This morning, you’ll be transferred to the Uyuni airport for your flight to La Paz. In the afternoon, your will escape to Tiahuanaco, an ancient capital of an extremely advanced pre-Inca civilization that – despite these impressive remnants – still remains an elusive mystery from 700 A.D.

Bid farewell to Bolivia
