Throughout this glorious two-week trip, Kuoda’s staff-guides and drivers gave us sharply intelligent and well informed introductions to Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, especially Ollantaytambo, and the markets and towns and archeological sites of that valley. Our Lake Titicaca guide Henry accompanied us to a home stay on an island that allowed us to met a Quechua family of several generations. We learned a lot about the region, nearby Bolivia and the Andean life in the present. That’s not the half of it — a terrific museum guide for a day in Lima, time given us, as we had asked, to wander.,Meeting and listening to a Peruvian musician and ethnologist of Andean instruments and musical styles– Accommodations were at the level we asked for and all were great.
