We chose Kuoda because good friends had used them several years ago. They exceeded our expectations. In planning our trip and identifying where we needed their services, we had several email exchanges and one lengthy phone conversation. They can do as much or as little as you like. For our 2 weeks in Peru, we ended up using Kuoda for 2 days–a guided trip through the Sacred Valley and a guided tour to Machu Picchu.

They also helped identify hotels in Cusco since I was having trouble finding a place for 3 people. They emailed an itinerary and a contract and we sent them a check; a bit of a leap of faith. But when we arrived in Cusco, Jason met us at the bus station with Marco, the driver, and we realized then that we were in competent hands.

Ofelia, our guide to the Sacred Valley and MP, was excellent. Her English was excellent and she knew her Peruvian history and current events. She was also fun person to hangout with for a couple of days. I happened to mention that it was our 30th wedding anniversary and she quietly arranged to have Jason send a fruit basket and champagne sent to our hotel back in Cusco. Clearly, the staff are all working together cohesively.

On our last day to the airport, the founder of Kuoda, Mery, stopped by to thank us and ask for feedback from our experience. She also gave us each a gift. Kuoda does an exceptional job of paying attention to detail. Without hesitation, would recommend them to anyone considering hiring a private tour guide. It is money well spent.
