Peru is a beautiful country with amazing natural wonders, history and historical sites, culture and cuisine, and the most gracious and genuinely kind people. How could we not have had the most magical adventure?

With the expert assistance of Kuoda Travel our Peruvian experience was enhanced in every aspect due to the personally designed travel itinerary, with every transportation and accommodation reservation, activities, travel assistant, driver and guide scheduled to perfection…allowing us to fully enjoy all the wonderful Peruvian sites, culture, experiences and memories. And with the expert and professional assistance of every one of the Kuoda travel team members involved in our personally guided trip.

Beginning with our travel designer Tom, who was able to plan our 10 Day Machu Picchu/Cusco/Sacred Valley/Amazon trip personalizing to our travel dates, requested inns, activities that were on our wish list. And even included meals at Pachu Papa and 3 Keros, two fantastic Peruvian restaurants. Tom was very helpful and patient with all our questions and requests during the planning process, with his frequent, kind and prompt emails.

We loved the smiling airport greeters holding a sign with our names. Our travel coordinator in Cusco, Edgar, who met us at the beginning and end of our Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley portion of our trip and called to check on us every night and reviewed the next day’s adventure. Our gifted Cusco and Sacred Valley driver who navigated those narrow roadways expertly and always ready with a cold bottle of water.

We looked forward to our daily adventures with Pilar, our absolutely fantastic personal guide, who guided us through all the Inca ruins including Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Pilar easily explained the artistry, architecture, culture and history of all the sites. She shared so much information not found in the 5 travel books I read before our trip. But she was more than an expert, she was thoughtful and kind by pacing us slowly allowing us to adjust to the Andean elevation, taking our pictures and indulging us with fantastic meals and off the beaten path wonders such as the Cusco market, the San Blas church pulpit, the Salinas salt pans, and a 6 course meal at 3 Keros restaurant served personally by famed chef Richardo. Pilar shared her love for her country.

At the recommendation of Kuoda travel, we were hosted during our 3 day amazon basin adventure by the wonderful Inkaterra staff. We loved the cabana lodging and the food and service was excellent. On our amazon excursions day and night through the jungle and up and down the river, we were amazed to see so many fascinating, rare and beautiful animals.

Our trip sounds perfect…and it was. We had ideal weather, sunny and clear, that is until our travel day home. Upon our departure from our Amazon lodge it began to rain and after our arrival to the Amazon airport the weather caused a 6 hour delay in our departure flight to Lima. We arrived at the Lima airport with 30 minutes time to make our connection home. Without the Kuoda agent who was a the arrival gate waiting for our delayed flight, rushing us to the front of the line in ticketing and running us through the airport to customs and the appropriate departure gate, we would have never made our flight by just minutes. The perfect end to a perfect vacation.
