I just returned from a 9 day adventure to Peru traveling with my two sisters-in-law organized by Kuoda Travel. Our trip took us to Lima, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, and back to Lima before heading home. I cannot say enough amazing things about Kuoda Travel and the outstanding staff, service and flawlessly executed trip we experienced. I began my experience with Kuoda working with Tom Carroll back in March via email to arrange the details of the trip. Tom was such a pleasure to work with and provided answers promptly to my numerous questions as well as easily accommodated my many change requests for upgraded hotels to the default itinerary. Tom ensured we were happy with every aspect of the daily itinerary and went above and beyond to also assisting us in making dinner reservations for us on the nights we were on our own for dinner. Up until our departure he stayed in constant contact with me ensuring that I knew who to contact for any scenario that came up. It was the easiest travel planning process I’ve ever experienced for such an extraordinary trip.

From the moment we arrived in Lima until our departure day, we were chauffeured and escorted with the utmost professional service. In Lima, our guides Lillian, Bartolomew, and Fernando were simply wonderful. They provided us a tour of Lima and the Barranco neighborhood that was fun and enlightening. They also accommodated at last minute, a tour of the Magic Water Show Circuit on our last night just before heading to the airport for our flight home. That was a wonderful add-on and we very much enjoyed that as our finale before going home as so appreciated Kuoda arranging that for us on short notice. Liseth was our on-the-ground coordinator in Peru and she was just wonderful. She checked in with me daily via WhatsApp to confirm the day’s plans and dinner reservations and answer any questions we might have. The entire Kuoda ground team took such good care of us that extended to ensuring we checked into our flights with ease. This was particularly wonderful because on the day we flew to Cusco, the computers were down at Lima Airport. The airport was a zoo and without Lillian’s expert guidance at the airport, we would have been lost. She handled everything with ease and did not leave us for a second until we were checked in and ready to proceed to our gate.

In Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, we had the extreme fortune to have Edward as our guide, and Marco as our driver, with us for our entire journey to those areas. Edward was simply outstanding in his ability to provide us with historical information, political commentary, and general useful information. We asked him at least a thousand questions for which he always had an answer! He was such a delight and wealth of information and went above and beyond in his role as tour guide for us. Edward was extremely helpful in guiding us to area restaurants, shopping and tips on how to avoid falling into tourist traps! We truly felt like he was a fatherly role wanting to protect us 3 women travelling alone! Marco, our driver, did a mind-blowing job of navigating the tiniest streets in such a large van with total ease. We felt safe and in such good hands with him.

Our hotel accommodations were positively luxurious! Every hotel we checked-in treated us like gold and rooms handpicked and provided by Kuoda were all beautiful beyond compare. As we were a group of three women, which is non-standard in most hotels, Kuoda ensured that our accommodations for a triple were as good as any other room type. The restaurants and meals provided by Kuoda were also outstanding whether it was the hotel included breakfast or specialty experiences such as the one we had at famous chef, Tatiana’s home in the Sacred Valley. As if our experience wasn’t amazing enough, the owner of Kuoda Travel, Mery, visited us personally on our last day in Cusco and joined us for breakfast with a lovely parting gift of a hand-crafted mug and personally asked us for feedback and improvement opportunities. I honestly could not think of one. I travel quite a bit and have used many high-end travel companies for my travels. I can honestly say that Kuoda Travel is among the very best I have experienced in my world travels. From start to finish, every aspect of their service not just met, but far exceeded my expectations. I recommend Kuoda wholeheartedly to any traveler with an interest in luxury travel to Peru. I am now inspired to continue my travels with Kuoda and considering a trip to Ecuador/Galapagos Islands in the very near future for no other reason than to work with Kuoda again.
