Biography

Tom first fell in love with Peru in 2008 after visiting Cusco and then spending the following year travelling around the country. After a brief trip back to his native England Tom couldn’t resist returning to Cusco and has since made his home in our beautiful city! He is an explorer by nature and has visited and travelled through almost all the countries in South America- just Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay are the only ones left to go! During his free time you can find him playing football, hiking around the nearby mountains, or tasting some of the best coffee Peru has to offer! Make sure to ask him about adventure activities and Peru’s jungle region, his favorite part of the country!

Most recent trip/cultural activity

Visiting Lima and the beautiful Ballestas Islands off the coast- Peru’s Galapagos Islands!
Visiting Lake Titicaca for the first time and spending a night with a local family on Amantani Island.
Spending a few days at the magnificent Iguazu Falls on the Brazil/Argentina border.

Favorite Trip Experience

Spending a week in the Tambopata jungle, and staying in some of the country’s most beautiful lodges! There is nothing like going to sleep to the sounds of the jungle and waking up before dawn to watch the forest come to life. Taking boat trips on oxbow lakes, spotting a family of giant otters, hiking deep into the forest by torchlight, and eating exotic, delicious local food. It is unlike anywhere else I have been and completely unique!

Next Trip

Travelling to Iquitos and discovering the northern Amazon jungle. Taking a boat trip on the Amazon River and seeing the pink dolphins!
