Welcome to Bolivia
Upon arrival in La Paz, you will be met by your Kuoda host, who will escort you to the Inca Utama Hotel on Lake Titicaca (approximately an hour and a half from the city)
After resting, you will have the remainder of the day to visit the Andean Roots Cultural Complex, where you can examine displays about the cultural heritage of the Andes and enjoy the hotel’s amenities.
In the evening you will visit the native healers – the “Kallaways” – of Bolivia, who believe you must heal the soul in order to heal the body. You will meet “Tata Benjo,” who will cast his sacred coca leaves and read your future.
End the day with a candlelit dinner at the excellent Sumaj Untavi Restaurant.
Day 2: Lake Titicaca
Moon Island / Sun Island / Copacabana
After breakfast, board a hydrofoil and begin your Lake Titicaca adventure. Your first stop is Moon Island where you will visit the “Iñak Uyu,” the Sun Virgins' Temple, where the most beautiful virgins of the Incas maintained a sacred fire dedicated to their gods. Continue to Copacabana for a visit to the cathedral and the “Dark Virgin of the Lake” (which has made Copacabana a major pilgrimage site).
Your next stop will be Sun Island, legendary birthplace of the Inka. Here you will visit Pilcocaina Sun Temple before beginning a short trek with llamas to the Posada del Inca Lodge. This charming lodge is located on top of the island, with a breathtaking view of Lake Titicaca and the Royal Range of the Andes.
Spend your afternoon exploring.
